☆ Renowned American artist Frank Stella dies aged 87

CNN —Frank Stella, the American artist renowned for his abstract works, died on Saturday at the age of 87, his longtime representative said in a statement. “It has been a great honor to work with Frank for this past decade,” said Marianne Boesky, who has represented Stella since 2014, in a statement. “His is a remarkable legacy, and he will be missed.”Born in 1936, Massachusetts native Stella attended Phillips Academy Andover, where he studied painting under Patrick Morgan. Stella continued to create art well into his ninth decade, with his some of his recent sculptures being displayed at the Jeffrey Deitch Gallery in New York City. One of his final pieces is still on display in Florida at the Museum of Contemporary Art Jacksonville.

The generative artificial intelligence startup is the company behind Claude, one of the chatbots that, like OpenAI's ChatGPT and Google 's Gemini, has exploded in popularity in the past year. Anthropic's first iOS app is free for users across all plans and also available starting Wednesday. In a release Wednesday, Anthropic confirmed that other current clients using Claude include Pfizer, Asana, Zoom, Perplexity AI, Bridgewater Associates and more currently. Now, it's one of the hottest AI startups, with a product that directly competes with ChatGPT in both the enterprise and consumer worlds. Anthropic's stance on the military use of Claude is similar to OpenAI's updated policy.

In fact, killer whales may have been key characters in the infamous incident that inspired Herman Melville's 1851 novel "Moby-Dick." "Moby-Dick" is inspired by a sperm whale, not a killer whale, sinking the whaling boat "Essex" in 1820. From there, the sailors had to fight off the conditions of the open ocean and follow up attacks by possible orca whales. But a group of researchers discovered a method of quizzing the chatbot to figure out which books it has read. Many tech workers are only productive for four hours per day. CNN —The love showered on Brendan Fraser out of film festivals inflates expectations for “The Whale” wildly out of proportion, in a movie based on a play that occurs almost entirely within a lone apartment. Weighted down not by its morbidly obese protagonist but rather its stick-thin supporting players, Fraser deserves praise for his buried-under-makeup performance, but that’s not enough to keep the movie afloat. Adapted by Samuel D. Hunter from his play, “The Whale” actually derives its title from the book “Moby Dick,” although the convincing enormity of Charlie’s physique obviously provides another meaning. As poignant and heartbreaking as Charlie’s plight is, “The Whale” can’t transcend the line between theater and film. While it’s easy to root for Fraser to earn accolades, in the annual hunt for award-worthy movies, consider this another one that got away.
